北京五輪と人権

I'm so happy.
Because finally,i can present my graduation thesis to professors

I did thesis on a orienting film for liquid-crystal.
I struggled for many times before he could finish my thesis.
I'm free. I'm happy.

By the way,
I want to talk about Beijing Olympics.

Recentry,
It seems that
many Chinese human rights advocates were charged with subversion.
One of the NGO,Human rights watch have criticized China
for the arrest of advocates,
and express serious concern
about human rights abuses by the Chinese government
before Beijing plays host to the Olympics in August.

When China got the right to host the 2008 Olympics,
Chinese government promice to improve human right
against international community.
But Chinese abridge the freedom of speech more and more
according to the survey of communications.

The 80th Academy Awards

　2008-02-25

As you know,
The 80th Academy Awards ceremony was held
at the Kodak Theatre.

No Country For Old Men has won four Oscars,
including best film and best director.
And the directors of this movie,
brothers Joel and Ethan Coen have been awarded.

Daniel Day-Lewis who appeared in "There Will Be Blood"
was chosen Best actor.
He did "Gangs of New York" in the year 2002,
and was awarded as Best actor.

My favorite actor,George Clooney sadly missed Best actor.

But I like Daniel Day-Lewis,too.
And now i want to see "There Will Be Blood"
which dealed with Southern California's oil boom
of the late-19th and early-20th centuries.

"Mongol" which Japanese actor,Tadanobu Asano appeared in
has lost a prize.

今日の世界

　2008-02-24

トルコ軍によるクルド労働党(ＰＫＫ）討伐を目的とした
イラク北部への越境攻撃によって79人が死亡したと伝えられている。

ＰＫＫはクルド人の独立を求め、
1980年頃からトルコ軍にテロ攻撃を繰り返している組織だ。
以前も記事で取り上げたが、
クルド人とは、トルコ、イラン、イラクに住む
国家を持たない世界最大の民族である。
クルド人が1つの国家に収まっていれば、
ここまで問題は複雑にならないだろうものの、
三国にまたがって住むゆえ、独立するのは非常に難しいだろう。
クルド人自治区の油田の問題もある。

トルコの越境攻撃はこれが初めてではなく、
過去に何度も繰り返し行っている。
しかし、トルコ人口の2割はクルド系といわれており、
そのすべてを敵に回すことは、トルコにとっても得策ではないはずだが・・・
イラクの大統領はクルド出身のジャラル･タラバニ氏だが、
クルド人の更なる自治を認めることは、
トルコ、イランにも影響する問題であり、容易に決断はできないよう。

問題解決は簡単じゃないね。
こういう問題を聞くと、
なんとなく独立を支持したくなるけど、
それが本当にクルド人を含めた
周辺諸国の益になるかはよくわからないからな。

さて、
最後に政治ジョークをひとつ。

共産圏のある国で・・・
教官が生徒に質問した。
「資本主義とは一体何かね？」

「もはや断崖絶壁に立った体制であります！！」

教官はその答えに満足し、もうひとつ質問した。
「では、社会主義とは何かね？」

「資本主義より一歩進んだ状態であります！！」

そういえば、
夢の中にプーチンがでてきたよ。
ＪＲの電車の中で、一緒に談笑してたｗ英語で。

登山のすすめ

To tell the truth,
I love to go mountain climbing.
I have ever climbed some mountain in Japan.
For example,
I climbed Mr.Kentoku.
This mountain is located at Yamanashi and 2016 meters high.

And I have ever climbed Yatsugatake.
Yatsugatake is one of the Japanese Alps
and made up of many mountains.
Itis so beautiful.

I have ever climbed Mt. Fiji.
But I like Yatsugatake better than Mt.Fiji.
Cos' Mt. Fuji is not so beautiful and it's hard for me to climb.

Today,
I climbed Mt. Takao.
This mountain is so small and just 599 meters high.
So it's like a hill.
Actually it's difficult for me
to climb high mountain in this season.
But i'm glad there is mountain near my home.
I enjoyed climbing Mt. Takao.

60% of Japan is mountain.
I guess
there are many beautiful mountains and forest in Japan.
I want to climb mountains in Japan,
and... around the world.

カストロ議長　引退表明

On February 19,
Cuban leader Fidel Castro announce his retirement
from president.
He is 81 years old.
And it seems that he get a health problem.
So it's natural to retire as cuban president.
he should know what was happening with his health.

Mr Castro has held on power for 49 years.
It's so long time.
I wonder he is autocrat or hero.
Maybe he is autocrat and also hero.

You know,
USA do not like Mr. Castro since Cuban Crisis.
American President, Mr. Bush said
the US was ready to help
the "people of Cuba realise the blessings of liberty".
Yes.
we should not forget the people
who was persecuted for anticommunism by Fidel Castro.

It seems that
Cuba's new parliament will meet on Sunday
to elect a new president.

ユーゴスラビア解体最終章　コソボ独立へ

　2008-02-18

BBC reported　that
Kosovo's parliament has unanimously endorsed
a declaration of independence from Serbia,
in a historic session.

When i heard this news first,
I guessed "the day has been finally here."

Of course,
Serbian government is strongly opposed to the indipendence.
and also denounced the US for helping the independence of Kosovo.
Russia and some EU states is opposed to it, too.

I wonder
Kosovo is having enough ability to work independently.
Anyway,
I wish Kosovo would keep peace and bring stability.
after the independence.

Kosovo Prime Minister, Mr. Hashim Thaci said
"We have waited for this day for a very long time...
from today, we are proud, independent and free! ″

But,
I feel regret that the border increse as one by one in the world.

Russian Jokes

ロシアでNHKのモスクワ特派員として
長くジャーナリスト活動をしていた人の本を読んだ。

その本によると、
ロシア人はジョーク好きらしい。
昔のソ連時代を笑ったジョークを幾つか見つけたので紹介。

酔っ払いがモスクワの夜の街でわめいていた。
｢共産党書記長ブルジネフは馬鹿だ！大馬鹿だぁ！｣
すぐさま秘密警察が駆けつけ彼を逮捕した。

男は言った。
｢酔って騒いだだけだ！」
すると警察は言った。
｢お前はなんと言ったのか。｣

男は答えた。
｢ブルジネフは馬鹿だって言っただけだ。｣

すると警察官は言った。
｢国家機密漏洩罪で逮捕する。｣

・・・(￣￣；)

さて次。

ポーランドに最新の医学技術機器を備えた精神病院が完成し、
世界各国から、視察団がやってきた。

視察団が優れた設備内を見学した後、
ロシアからの視察団の一人が入院患者の一人を指し、担当医に尋ねた。
｢彼はどうしてここに入院しているのかね？｣

すると担当医は答えた。
｢亡命しようとしたんです。｣

ロシアからの視察団は言った。
｢亡命？おかしいな、わが国では亡命しようとすれば、
収容所に行くはずなのだが・・・」

担当医はさらに言った。
｢いえ、彼はロシア(ソ連)に亡命しようとしたんです。｣

まぁ、
ソ連に亡命しようとする奴なんかいないってさ。

最後に。

政治犯収容所での会話。
　「あんたは何年、くらったんだい？」

　「25年ですよ。」

　「25年！？いったい何の罪だ？」

　「それが、何にもしてないんですよ。無罪なんです」

　「嘘つくな！何にもしてないんだったら、10年だろうが！」

それだけ、無実の人がソビエトでは逮捕されてましたとさ。

政治ジョークは皮肉が利いてて好きです。
ロシア以外にもいろいろな国のジョークを集めてるので、
ちょくちょく載せていきますね。

日本における国際結婚って！？

It seems that
in Japan, international marriage has risen recently.

I guessed before now,
there are little international marriage
between Japanese man and non-Japanese woman.
But i realize
there're more marriages
between Japanese man and non-Japanese woman
than between Japanese woman and non-Japanese man.

This reasult was wholly unexpected.

according to an investigation
by the Ministry of Health and Welfare,
Couple between Japanese husband and non-Japanese wife
are 35993 pairs.
So about 80% of these interracial marriages involved
a Japanese male marrying a foreign female.

It seems that Most of international marriage involved
Korean, Chinese, Filipino and American.

アイルランド紛争とは

｢麦の穂を揺らす風(THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY)｣
っていう映画を見ました。
この映画は、カンヌ国際映画祭パルムドール受賞作品で、
なかなか高い評価を受けているようです。

いい映画だったので、簡単に紹介したいと思います。

舞台は1920年アイルランド。
アイルランド独立紛争のさなか。
イギリスからの独立を求め、
アイルランドの若者たちが義勇軍を結成する。
医師を志す青年デミアンも、
友人たちがイギリス軍に殺害されたり
暴力を振るわれるのを見て
ゲリラに加わりアイルランド独立のため
戦争に身を投じることを決意する。
IRA(アイルランド共和国軍)による激しいゲリラ戦により
イギリス軍は苦しめられ、
1921年12月停戦条約であるイギリス･アイルランド条約が締結。

この条約によりアイルランドは大幅な自治権を得たものの、
完全な独立ではなく、
しかも北アイルランドはこの中に含まれていなかった。

条約の内容をめぐり支持派と反対派の対立が激化。
同胞同志が戦うアイルランド内戦へと突入する。

この戦争は、
北アイルランド問題として現在も尾を引きずっているため、
イギリス内でも反英的な問題作として扱われたらしい。

この映画を見て、
軽くアイルランド独立戦争について調べていたが、
カトリックの多いアイルランド人は
プロテスタントの多いイギリスから圧力を受けるなど、
宗教戦争的な部分もかなりあるようだ。
また、15世紀頃から
イギリスの支配下で圧政を受けるなど
イギリスとアイルランドの間には
長い憎しみの歴史があるようだ。

独立のために共に戦ってきた仲間と、
最後は同士討ちを始めるなど、悲しい映画ではあるが
日本人には馴染みの少ないアイルランドを知る上でも、
見る価値はあると思う。

東ティモール大統領　銃撃され負傷

Today,BBC NEWS reported that
Mr Ramos-Horta was shot in the stomach
in a pre-dawn attack on his Dili home.

But Who is Mr Ramos-Horta???
He is East Timor's President
and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996.

And BBC NEWS reported that there is no threat to his life.
It seems that
Rebel leader Alfredo Reinado died in the attack.

Well...
I introduce about East Timor shortly.
East Timor was colonized by Portugal since the 16th century
and declared its independence In late 1975.
However after that
East Timor was invaded and occupied by Indonesia.
And Indonesia government suppressed people
who wish independence of East Timor.

On May 20, 2002.
East Timor achieved long-cherished independence.
So, you know,
East Timor is very new nation.

ハワイの雪山

Wow,
It's snowing now.
It's five times, isn't it?

So I want to talk about snow of Hawaii.
Actually,
snow often falls on Mauna Kea In Hawaii.
Do you know Mauna Kea?
This is Hawaii's tallest mountain,
and it's 4205 meters high.
However,if measured from its base on the seabed,
Mauna Kea is more than 9000 meters high
and the tallest mountain in the world,

In addition,
This mountain is called under the nickname of White Mountain.

Maybe,
you can go skiing to Hawaii.
haha...

注目されない共和党代表マケイン氏の顔

Mr. John McCain was nominated as a representative
for the Republican Party in the presidential election.

But I guess
he have not gotten more attention
than Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in Japan.
So today,
I want to talk about who McCain is.

His family is Admirals in the United States Navy.
So McCain also graduated from the US Naval Academy
and he became a naval aviator.

But In the Vietnam War,
his aircraft was shot down and he was taken prisoner.
And He endured about 5 years as a prisoner of war...

Wow...
Actually,he had a checkered life.

It seems that
he has a passionate nature.

東京白雪景色

It snowed yesterday at Tokyo Japan.
I guess that's unusual.
and I'm weak on cold weather.

it seems that
Benjin in China was hit by a unprecedented cold wave...
So rail roads has been stopped for some time.

I wonder where is the coldest city.

I've found some date of the coldest city.
A federal subject of Russia,Sakha is one of the coldest country.
At Oymyakon in Sakha republic,
the temperatures reached as low as −67.7°C in 1933.
Wow!!!
I can't believe human being live at such cold area.

ケニアからの便り

　2008-02-03

ケニアに滞在中の知人をもつ友人から
ケニアの現状を綴ったメールを横流ししてもらったので、
一部抜粋して紹介する。

ケニア大統領選を巡り、暴動が激化。
すでに1000人近くが亡くなっている。

メールによれば、
Each of the two political leaders blames the other part
as the cause of the many deaths that have been until now.
As a result, riots started again today in several areas

対立する二つの政党のリーダーが
これまでに多数の死者が出ていることでお互いを非難しあったため、
いくつかの地域で暴動が再び始まった。
という感じである。

They found some road blocks in Likoni areas,
fire and chaos everywhere
with a mob of 150 angry men ahead.
ある地域では道路は閉鎖され、
150人の暴徒と混乱と火の手が至る所に見られる、
みたいな感じかな。

Tuesday night they would have gone door to door in the village
and that they would have killed all the Kikuyus.
火曜日の夜に村の一軒一軒を回って、
キクユ族出身の人を殺していったそうだ。

これだけ読むと、
ルワンダのような民族対立による虐殺のようだが、
実際には、政治的混乱が背景にあり、
選挙が落ち着けば、暴動もおさまるはずだ。

中国ギョーザ騒動に思うこと

Agricultural chemical, Methamidophos
in meat dumplings made in China,
become a huge issue between Japan and China.
I heard that
10 Japanese nations upset their health.

I guess that's big porblem.
I wish they recover their health
and clear up the cause as soon as possible.

It seems that some japanese believe
this incident happened due to chinese factory or government.

But the cause is atill not known.
We had better not evaluate it in haste.

Of cause,
We should be careful with food safety.
I wish all food safety could been kept up.
