オーストラリア政府 アボリジニへ正式謝罪へ

The Australian government has announced it will issue its first formal apology to Aboriginal people.
It seems that
A lot of Aboriginal children were forcibly taken
from their parents
and given to white families or institutions
to raise between 1915 and 1969.
Such children is called "Stolen Generations"...
Former Prime Minister Howard refused any apologies firmly.
However,this time
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd decided to issue this apology.
Now,
four hundred fifty thousand Aboriginal people live
in Australia.
Life always has its ups and downs.

この一週間、いろいろあってあくせくしていたけれども、一応一区切りついた。
なにか書こうと思ったけど、
特にネタがないので、
最近心に響いた言葉を紹介。
「人間は負けたら終わりなのではない。
辞めたら終わりなのだ。」
元アメリカ大統領リチャード・M・ニクソンの言葉。
この人自身はあまり好きじゃないけど、
この言葉には励まされます。いや、ほんと。
「人間は神と悪魔の間に浮遊する。」
パスカルの言葉。
最近、世界情勢を見ていると、ほんとにそう思います。
｢神よ，彼らをお許しください。
自分たちが何をしているのか知らないのですから。」
キリストの言葉。
処刑前、死刑執行人のために祈ったとされる。
「あなたも現実を肯定してしまうんですね。・・・・
真に平和な世界をだれ一人、だれ一人経験したこともないのに
どうして駄目だといえるんです！？」
前にも紹介した漫画｢石の花｣で、主人公が言う台詞。
あらためて、この漫画は奥が深いと思う。
そういえば、
スハルト元大統領亡くなったね。
インドネシアの独裁者。
あんまり知らないので、特にびっくりもしなかったんだけど。
冷戦時代、反共ゆえに西側に支えられて、
冷戦終結と共に独裁政治を突然批判されてるとこなんか、
チリのピノチェト大統領にそっくりだなって思いました。
欧米諸国は、冷戦時は反共ならば何でも容認してたからね。

和平協定 コンゴに平和の兆し

A peace pact has been signed in Goma in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
between the government and armed rebel troops.
BBC reported it.
First,the Congo civil war broke out in 1998.
This confusion spread in neighboring countries,
Cos' some countries participated in this war
to get natural resources in DR Congo.
So this war is called "the World War in Africa"
This period of conflict has been the bloodiest
in history since World War II.
And almost 5 million people have died by the war.
The deal includes an immediate ceasefire
and the deployment of UN peacekeepers in 13 key locations.

NPO,Transparency Internatinal announceCorruption Perception Index(CPI) in 2007.
This is the ranking about the issue of corruption
on the international policy agenda.
In 2007,The CPI ranks 180 countries
in terms of perceived levels of corruption,
as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys.
The most corrupt country expressed "0 point".
And the most clean country expressed "10 points".
Japan was given 7.5 points,
and ranked 17th
Denmark,NZ and Finland is selected
as one of the most political clean country .
And
Somalia and Myanmar ranked the bottom among 180 nations.
Well...
I guess Japan is not so wrong.

売店にて Fair Trade

I found chocolates which are certified as Fair Tradein the shop of my school.
So, today, I have bought it.
You know
Fair trade is an organized social movement and international trade
which promotes the payment of a fair price.
It seems that
This movement is helpful to stop any environmental destruction.
Well...
I guess
Fair Trade don't have more drastic effect than advertisement.
And somehow
on packaging,it is written that country of origin is Switzerland...
???
Switzerland???
Are Cacaos produced in Switzerland???

報道の在り方

新聞の社説って、大学入試に出題されることも多いらしい。
しかし、最近思うのだが、
あんまりたいした事を書いていない気がする。
なんというか、
問題そのものの事実さえ知っていれば、
誰でも考え付きそうな提案と結論を書いている気がする。
例えば、どこかしらかの企業が不正を働いていたとする。
すると｢XXが○○な不正を働いた。
消費者や国民の信頼を裏切った罪は重い」
とかで始まり、長々と事実背景の説明を行い。
最後は法の整備とか、管理の大切さを説いて終わる。
まぁ、当然ですねって思ってしまう。
わざわざ記事にするのだから、
読み手が意識しないような他の方面から問題をみて
考察した記事にして欲しい。
あと、自分は朝日なのだが、
夕刊の一面に小さく素粒子って記事がある。
強烈な皮肉欄という感じで、
嫌味なことを詩みたく短く書き連ねている。
まぁ、これはこれで短いし、
こういうのも必要なのかなって思うこともあるのだが、
基本的に批判ばかりする記事は好きじゃない。
例えば、
朝青龍がモンゴルに帰ったときとか、阿部首相が辞めたときとか、
単純に｢責任感がない」だの、「自覚が足りない」だの
言うのは簡単なわけで、
国民の感情をさらに煽る必要もないでしょう。
批判しか書けていない記事は、
一方面からしか物事を見れていないということだと思うのです。
あと、
本読んでいたりとか、ブログを読んでいて思うことがあるのだが
やたらと難解な言葉を使って文章を書いていて、
要約してみれば、
当たり前で誰でも考え付きそうなことを書いているだけだったり・・・
書いてる本人が頭いい気になるだけの記事は書きたくないですね。
まぁ、自分はもともと格調高い文章書くのが苦手なので、
そんな心配はないのだけれどｗ
難しい言葉も知りませんし。
で、こんな理由から最近はいろんな新聞読むように努めてます。
完璧に公平な新聞なんてないから、
いろんなところから情報を取り入れたいと思うわけです。
個人的にBBC、CNNは好きです。
日本の新聞じゃ取り上げない国際ニュースも載ってるから。

独裁者の時代

American magazine,"PARADE" announced the World's Worst Dictators list.
It seems that this annual list was drawn in part on reports
from Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International,
In this list,
Sudan president,Omar al-Bashir have been regarded
as the worst dictator .
The reason is his ongoing deadly human-rights abuses
in the Darfur region of Sudan.
North Korean state president,Kim Jong-il was ranked the second.
And China state president,Hu Jintao was ranked third.
America indicated that
the torture, forced abortions, forced labor,
detention of religious groups are admitted in China.
Umm...in the histry
Many dictator appeared on the stage called "the world"
But what is dictator?
I don't know if they were actually vicious men.
when i saw this list,
I remembered Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.
The cold war era,
His tyranny was admitted by America and capitalists.
Because he hated communist and oppressed them hardly.
But after cold war,
President Pinochet have no utility for America.
He was thrown away by America
and so he left his position as dictator.

可哀そうな双子の結婚の結末

"A pair of twins who were adopted by separate families as babies
got married without knowing they were brother and sister...″
BBC reported such news.
Wow!!!That's amazing!!!
The twins were brought up separately
by different parents at different place.
And they met,after that, they got to like each other.
Surprisingly they've gotten married !
Actually,the pair did not realise
they were related until after their marriage.
That's some coincidence...
But unfortunately,this marriage was not permitted
because of a intermarriage.
Oh,Poor thing...
It seems that
the twins felt an "inevitable attraction".
This issue shows
the importance of the rights of children
to know the identities of their biological parents.
I feel it's true
Fact is stranger than fiction.

Do You like America ?

さてさて、今日は「アメリカ嫌い」の話。
中東地域はもちろんのこと、欧州、オーストラリア、カナダでも
アメリカに対する冷めた視線がこの2,3年で増幅したように思う。
まぁ、それはイラク戦争が関係しているんだろう。
日本では、
アメリカ好きとアメリカ嫌いに二極化しているように感じている。
世界大国であり、
様々な娯楽文化を世界に発信するアメリカに憧れを持つ人。
イラク戦争などのアメリカの中東戦略、
もしくは、日本の米軍基地問題などから
アメリカに嫌気がさしている人。
まぁ、いろいろいますね。
NGOで働いている人とかはアメリカ嫌いが多いらしい。
米軍の攻撃で傷ついた市民を直で見ているからかな。
しかし、
アメリカが崩壊したらどうなるか少し考えてみてから、
好きか嫌いか判断して欲しい。
NGOの職員はともかく、日本人の大方は
世界の構図を考えないまま、
大国への嫉妬で嫌い！って言ってる人も多いみたいに思う。

how about japan?
Japan is one of the country with most highest suicide rate.
Japan is at no war.
and many people think japan is a safe and rich country.
But many japanese are suffering feeling of emptiness.
A professor of psychology in USA,David G Myers said
"We are left to wonder"Why" we live.
Why run this rat race? What's the point?"
We live intensely competitive society now.
and many people bustle us to servive this world.
We are obsessed with wining and serviving in this world.
Wining in comptitive society is called "a Dream".
But for me
It is hard not to feel
Where did we come from?
What does the future hold?

This car is called Tata Nano.

In terms of yen value,

Wow,it's very inexpensive!
Tata moter expect
the vehicle will enable many people in developing countries
to buy a car.
On the other hand,

アフリカ ケニアにて民族対立激化の恐れ

The confusion run over Kenya.The trigger of the confusion is the result of presidential vote.
Hundreds of people have been killed
in the largely inter-tribal violence,BBC reported.
There are more than 40 tribes in Kenya.
Some like the Kikuyu are vast.
And it seems that
Ethnicity is deeply ingrained into life in Kenya.
I thought Kenya is a safe place relatively.
But i knew there're complex ethnic problem.
Maybe it is difficult for japanese
to imagine what ethnic group is.
Because we can't distinguish
an african ethnic group from other one.
パキスタンの行方

ブット元首相が暗殺されて早一週間が過ぎた。まだ、犯人像がはっきりしない。
いろいろ社説を読みあさってみたが、
どれも似たりよったりだった。
ブット氏暗殺により誰がもっとも利益を受けるか。
一部にムシャラフ大統領の陰謀を示唆した記事もあったが、
これはないと思う。
ムシャラフ大統領は、
陸軍参謀総長を辞任したり、ブット氏の帰国を了解したりと
随分アメリカに譲歩する行動をとってきた。
いまさら、ブット氏を暗殺して
ムシャラフ大統領にどんな利益があるのか。
まぁ実際、総選挙の延期、情勢悪化と
ムシャラフ氏の不利な側に傾いている。
となると、やっぱりイスラム原理勢力かなぁって思う。
ブット氏は相当アメリカ寄りだったし、
イスラム主義勢力からはかなり批判されていたし。
そうなると、シャリフ元首相が浮かび上がってくる。
イスラム寄りだし、
最近のパキスタン情勢悪化で支持率を伸ばしている。
まぁ、結局よくわからんね。
しかし、
米国がブット氏を民主化の象徴みたく
やたらと後押ししてるけど、
彼女が首相に帰り咲いたとしても、
民主化が進むんでいたかというとそれも怪しいなって思う。
実際、ブット氏が首相だったときの汚職ぶりは酷かったらしいし。
アメリカはパキスタンの民主化に焦りすぎている気がする。
まずは、景気回復とか、教育の改善だとかで、
国民がテロ組織に流れていかないようにすべきかな。
いずれにせよ、
イスラム圏唯一の核保有国パキスタンの情勢は
今後の世界経済とか第三次世界大戦に結びつくものだから、
なんとかして安定して欲しいものです。

Today,I have gone to see a film,Flower of Sarajevo(Grbavica).
The movie is set in a present-day Sarajevo city...
Twelve years have passed
since Bosnia and Herzegovina conflict stopped...
I'd like to introduce synopsis of this film.
Sara is a twelve-year-old girl.
Her class plans to go on a school trip.
Teacher say that
children of fallen warriors in the last war are not suppose
to pay for the trip.
Sara believe her father died at war,father is a war martyr,
because her mother told her that her father got killed in war.
So Sara think she don't need to pay.
Single mother Esma wants to grant
her daughter Sara's wish to participate in a school trip.
However,
Esma know,actually,her father is not a war martyl.
Esma agonize herself whether to tell the truth or not.
We realize
it's difficult for everyone to heal wound of the wars.
This movie is not off-center.
I can predict ending of the film,maybe you can do too.
But I think this film is heartwarming tale of love
and well worth a look.

スリランカ政府 停戦協定の正式破棄へ

The Sri Lankan government has formally withdrawn from a ceasefire agreement with Tamil Tiger rebels.
BBC reported on January 2.
I thought it's too late.
The truce had been in a state of collapse
before announcing the withdrawal.
"The Cease Fire Agreement had been violated
nearly 10,000 times by the Tamil Tigers,
so we should annul this agreement,"
the cabinet's spokesman on security matters said.
Unfortunately,
Sri Lanka is returning to a state of war.
