社会派漫画のすすめ

漫画に社会派ってジャンルはあるのかな。
個人的に、社会派漫画だと感じる
メッセージ性の高い漫画の紹介をしたいと思います。

ひとつは手塚治虫氏の「アドルフに告ぐ」
小学生の時読んですごい衝撃を受けて、
今でもすごいクオリティーだなって思ってます。
舞台は第二次世界大戦中のドイツと日本。
まぁ、有名だから名前くらい聞いた事あると思う。

もうひとつは坂口尚氏の「石の花」
最近読んだんだけれども傑作でした。名作です。
上と同じく大戦中の物語だが、舞台はユーゴスラビア。

1941年、ナチスドイツがユーゴスラビアに侵攻！
平和な生活に退屈を覚える少年クリロは、
ユーゴスラビア、スロべニアの町で平和に暮らしていた。
しかし、町がドイツに占領されてから状況は一変する。
クリロはゲリラに、クリロの兄イヴァンはスパイに、
クリロのガールフレンドのフィーは強制収容所へと連行される。
また、５つの民族からなるユーゴスラビアでは
戦後の支配体系を巡り、
王制復古を目指すチェトニクと
共産国家を目指すパルチザンとの間でも内戦が勃発。

複雑な戦争の影にある
人間の本性、平和の本質が鋭く描かれている。
ただ、はじめのほのぼのした始まり方から
だんだん描写が生々しくなってくるから注意。

単純にドイツを倒せばOKというような物語の流れではなく、
様々な思想を持った人々がすれ違って物語が進んでいくから、
ちょっと複雑だけれども、そこがまた作品の深みを増している。

どうしようもなく旅行に行きたくなるとき

I want to travel abroad,I want to travel,I want I want I want....
I'm getting withdrawal symptoms...

Sometimes I get the urge to travel somewhere...
Now,
i would like to travel in Asia
such as India,Cambodia and Pilippine...

In India
There is many UNESCO World Heritage Site.
for example,the Taj Mahal.
India also ranks sixth in the number of World Heritage Site.

In Cambodia
There is Angkor Wat temple complex.
And Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum...
This is The splace where display
the evidence of Genocide happened by Khmer Rouge.
It seems that
During four years from 1975 to 1979,
the Khmer Rouge killed at least three million people.

And finally,In Philipine
There is a beatuiful ocean!
and many Philippino can speak English.
So we communicate each other easily.
And also housemaid that worked at my house in the old days
live in Philipine now.
I wonder how she is doing...

You know,
Travel in Asia is easy on the purse.
Now i feel like traveling somewhere...

BBC story claimed that
Pakistani former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has been killed
in a suicide attack.
Not only Mrs Bhutto but also about 20 people were killed....

Analysts believe Islamist militants to be the most likely group behind it.

And also Japanese media report that anti-American people might kill her.

In Pakistan
general election will be held in next January.
But you know, now
It's highly likely that the election is postponed.

I'm surprised at this news.
but i never would have thought that
this event was on the front page of newspaper...

I guess
Pakistan lies middle point between Asia and Middle East.
The situation in this point is important
to connect Asia to middle East.

Person of the Year

I have bought a TIME magazine.
'Cos Time magazine announced its annual Person of the Year.
And Surprisingly
Person of this year is Russian president, Vladimir Putin
TIME magazine described him as a Tsar.

However
"TIME'sPerson of the Year is not and never has been an honor.
It is not an endorsement.It is not a popularity contest."TIME said.

It seems that
Pesident Putin was valued
for the most powerful individuals against the world.

今日は　ソビエト連邦崩壊DAY☆

さて、
今日は、ソビエト連邦崩壊記念日です。
まぁ、正確にいうと、
ミハイル・ゴルバチョフ氏がソビエト大統領を辞任した日です。
ソビエト崩壊から１６年。

というわけで、
ソビエト崩壊のシナリオをかる〜く思い返そう。

もともと、ロシアは
ツァーリと呼ばれる王族による支配が長年続いていた。
１９１７年１０月革命で共産主義国家へ移行。
レーニンを共産党書記長とする支配がはじまる。

その後、悪名高いスターリンの独裁支配や
フルシチョフ、ブレジネフ体制などなどを経て
１９８５年３月１２日ゴルバチョフ氏が書記長に就任する。
形式ばらずに国民と接するフレンドリーな指導者だったらしい。
しかも、経済不振など状況の悪化は
共産党の責任が大きいと、始めて認めた指導者でもあった。

そして、ペレストロイカ開始。
まぁ政治面、経済面での改革で、
市場経済への移行政策みたいなかんじらしい。
また、ペレストロイカの１つに
グラスノスチ（情報公開）というものがある。
これはこれまで抑圧してきた
思想家や知識人の主張をもっとよく聞こうってもので、
いわゆる言論の自由を推し進めるものだった。

で、このグラスノスチによって
いろいろスターリン時代の失敗や党の失敗が
明るみにでることになったにも関わらず、
肝心のペレストロイカは失敗。
不景気がつづくことになる。

これは、国民の不満を増幅させるだけでなく、
各共和国や、民族の独立運動を激化させるはめになる。

１９９１年１２月２１日
ロシア・ウクライナ・ベラルーシの首脳が集まり、
CIS（独立共同体）宣言採択。
１２月２５日ゴルバチョフ辞任。
１２月２６日最高連邦会議、ソ連邦の消滅を宣言。

ゴルバチョフ氏はノーベル平和賞受賞者だし、
西欧では冷戦を終結させた人として人気があるらしいけど、
肝心のロシアではソ連解体させた上に
不景気続きだったから、不人気みたいです。

考えてみると、
同じ年にユーゴスラビアも解体しているわけで、
１９９１年は結構激動の年だったんだね。

これから歴史はどう動くんだろう。

コンゴにて再内戦の恐れ

In the Democratic Republic of Congo
The battle rages between gorvement army and rebel groups.
There is a possibility that
this battle develop into civil war again.

It seems that
Tutsi population from Rwandan rebels is involved in this finghting,
They have been based in eastern DR Congo
since the Rwandan genocide in 1994.

Recentry,
DR Congo has announced a peace conference
at the end of the month aimed at ending the conflict.


Africa is always in constant danger of the war...
But In future
I'd like to go to Arica to enjoy great outdoors
without any risk.

サンタ　ブラジルにて銃撃される

A helicopter
carrying a Santa Claus to distribute gifts at a Christmas party
was shot when it flew over Rio de Janeiro.
I have seen such news on CNN.

Fortunately,
No one was injured
and the aircraft returned safely to its base,

It seems that
Gang members attacked the helicopter
thinking it belonged to the police.
You know,
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most violent cities in the world,
with a homicide rate of about 50 per 100,000 people.
So It's not unusual
for police helicopters to be shot by gangs.

Wow,
God-awful city...

クリスマス雑学

最近とっても寒い。
自分は寒いのが苦手で
この季節は、毎日外出るたびに死にそうになる。
それでも、町はクリスマスシーズンということで、
すごくにぎわっているみたいだ。

この時期は
イルミネーションで町がいやに綺麗になるから、
それはそれでうれしいのだが、
日本のような仏教or無神論国がキリスト教の行事を
こんなに熱心にやるのはどうしてなんだろうと、
毎年、不思議に思う。

クリスマスをキリスト教の行事と言ってみたが、
実はこれにはちょっとしたカラクリがある。
一般的には、
クリスマスはキリストの誕生日を祝うものとされている。
聖書をまともに読んだことのある人なら知っていると思うが、
キリストの誕生日は、実は聖書のどこにも書かれていない。
強いて言うと、
文脈的に１０月頃ではないかという説が大多数。

じゃぁ、１２月２５日って何の日よって事になる。
一説によると、
ローマ帝国時代、太陽神を祝う日であったらしい。
それを、教会がキリスト教の祭日にすり替えたものだと。
笑い話みたいですね。

まぁ、日本じゃクリスマスは
サンタがプレゼントをくれる日だと思っている人すらいるから、
あんま関係ない話かもしれないけど。
つーか、サンタクロースってなんじゃって話。
しかし、日本人は
自分が何を祝っているのかくらい気にならないのかなぁ。

でも、こういう話を聞くと、
現代キリスト教会の信用もがた落ちですね。

ちなみにアメリカでは、イスラム教徒も多いから
あまり公にMerry Xmasって言わない方向らしい。
世界はいろいろですね。

韓国大統領選挙に全く興味のなかった自分

Yesterday,
Mr Lee's election victory in North Korean was heavily covered
in most newspaper.
He also said
relations with Japan must be improved,

Truly
I was not very interested in the election in North Korean.
So i don't know most of the election.
But now, reflecting on this,
I would like to gen up about Korean.
Actually,It seems that
some proud japanese don't have no interest in Asia.
Some japanese said
"i want to go to USA or Europe."
But they never say "i want to travel in Asia."

I feel most japanese are longing for Europe and America.
But i know
Asia is fantastic and mysterious.

目まぐるしく変る世界にて

I have got some surprising news.
First,
Pop star Lily Allen is expecting her first child.
Wow.
But i wonder she is married woman?
Is it her intention to get a shotgun-married???
Well...i don't care...

And next...
Today, Asahi shinbun reported a nuclear deal
between Russia and Iran.

However,
i felt uncomfortable the way of writing.
Asahi shinbun said
"Russia overrided resistance from international community"

What is internatinal community?
America? EU? or United Nation?
i guess
not every countries opposed Russia's action against Iran.
I think Jpanese newspaper tend to have anti-russia views.

ユーゴスラビア連邦とは何だったのか

ユーゴスラビアとは何か。
それは、2003年まで東欧に存在した連邦国家である。

第二次世界大戦中、
共産党人民解放軍の総司令官ヨシップ・チトーは
ヒットラー率いるナチスのユーゴスラビア王国侵略に抵抗し、
イギリスの援助を受けつつも自力でドイツ軍を撤退させる。

終戦後の1945年
セルビア、クロアティア、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ、
スロヴェニア、マケドニア、モンテネグロ
から成るユーゴスラビア連邦が成立。

民族的な統治の難しさからこのように形容されていた。
"7つの隣国、6つの共和国、
　　　5つの民族、4つの言語、
　　　　　3つの宗教、2つの文字により構成される1つの国家"

戦後、東欧諸国がソ連の影響を受けるなか、
スターリンとは異なる独自の社会主義路線を進む。
それゆえ、西からも東からも敵対視されつつも、
チトーは並外れたバランス感覚とカリスマ性から、
ユーゴスラビアを独裁統治しつづけた。

1980年5月4日、
チトー、スロベニアの病院で死去。

カリスマなきユーゴスラビアは、その後、
急激に解体の一途をたどる。
1991年、冷戦終結と共に、ユーゴスラビア内戦勃発。
次々に共和国が独立し、
2003年、セルビア・モンテネグロの誕生と共に
ユーゴスラビアの名称は完全に消滅した。

あんまり日本では
ユーゴスラビアは馴染みがないみたいだけど、
サッカー日本代表のオシム監督の出身地は、
旧ユーゴスラビアのサラエボらしい。

歴史の中で、
様々な国家が誕生しては滅んでいくんだね。
最近東欧諸国の歴史がおもしろいなぁって思います。

パキスタンにて非常事態宣言解除

Pakistan governmental TV announced on 15 December.

At First,
he promise the lifting of the emergency on 16 December.
Actually....
President Musharraf formally ended the state of emergency
one day earlier than he announced.

Recentry,
Mr Musharraf absolutely exercise the right of President
to take the lead in the election.

I wonder,now
Pakistani can call a fair election
in such condition.

Kosovo is a landlocked province within Serbia.
Since a Kosovo conflict in the late 1990s
The province has been administered by the UN.

The opposition between Kosovo and Serbia has deteriorated
over independence of Kosovo.

about 1.5 millionEthnic Albanians live In Kosovo.
They demand independence of Kosovo from Serbia.
But Actually,
Serbian minority live in separate areas in Kosovo.

In February 2007 UN's envoy unveiled a plan
to set Kosovo on a path to independence,
This outcome immediately welcomed by Kosovo Albanians
However it was rejected by Serbia.

Each country was not able to narrow gaps
for each claims in recent negotiation even now.

In histry,
again and again
War broke out in this region.

米国流ファースト・フードについての調査

It is reported in the newspaper of CNN
that Australians believe
the American hamburger is infringing on their local cuisine
and they are "not at all pleased" about it !

Using the telephone poll of 1,213 people,
U.S. Studies Center asked to judge
the influence of American culture on Australia.

67 % of respondents said
they were "not at all pleased"
about U.S.-style fast food in Australia.

I don't understand the difference
between US-style fast food and Aust.-style one.
I can remember
using Burger King and Mc Donald at Melbourne.

That reminds me.
Burger King came to Japan again.
Of course,
Any fast food is not wholesome food.
you had better go easy on the fast food.

プーチン後継者決定か！？

PM Dmitry First Deputy Medvedev
to replace him as president next year"

BBC News has just reported it.

for long time,
Some medias discussed
with the successor after President Putin.
And finally the succesor have been determined.

Mr Medvedev is known as a pro-western group.
Mr Putin said
"I have known him for more than 17 years,
I have worked with him very closely all these years,
and I fully and completely support this candidacy".

本日で学会発表終了。
いろいろハピニングはありましたが、
やっと終わって、慌しい生活から抜け出せることが
ほんとにうれしいｗ
I'm so happy now！

「リオトロピック液晶の配向制御の研究」について
発表したのだが、
なかなかわかりやすく伝えるのは難しいね
でも、いい勉強になりました。
他のみんなもお疲れ様です。



さて、今日はこの間見た
「エレファントマン」という映画の紹介をしたいと思います。

あらすじはこんな感じ・・・・

生まれつき奇形で
醜悪な外見だったジョン・メリック（ジョセフ・メリック）は
「エレファント・マン」として見世物小屋で働かされていた。

外科医、フレデリック・トリーブスは彼を見ると
同情心と研究したいという興味ゆえに
持ち主のバイツから彼を引き取り、
病院の屋根裏部屋で彼の様子を見ることにした。

はじめは白痴だと思われていたメリックことエレファントマンは、
芸術を愛し、知性豊かな青年であることがわかる。
それに対し、見世物小屋のバイツは、
彼は自分の財産だとして取り返そうとしつこく追ってくる。

25年も前の映画ですが、みごたえのあるものでした。
結構、感動しました。
ただ、監督がデビット・リンチなだけあって、
一種のホラー的な雰囲気が随所に見られます。
しかし、何よりもすごいのは、これは
19世紀のロンドンでの実際にあった話だということ。
ジョンメリックについてちょっと調べてみると、
1862年から1890年までイギリスにいた人物で、
最後は皇太子妃の訪問を受けるなど、
かなり有名になったらしい。

この映画をみて、
人間の醜さは、外見でなく心なのだなと思った。
明らかに、エレファントマンよりも、
その周りを取り巻く人々のほうが醜くく恐ろしかった。
皆さんも、暇だったら見てみるといいかも。

統一ロシアの選挙圧勝

President Putin's United Russia party has received
63.3% of the vote
in Sunday's election to the State Duma.

Some media reported it
that Putin sweeped the election.
Actually,
My Putin said the poll was legitimate
and a vote of public trust in him.

But OSCE which is the world's largest regional security organization
asseted that the election was not fair.
some opposition leader said same things.
So US has urged Moscow
to investigate claims of voting irregularities carefully...

I'm concerned about president putin's action after retire.
