Land of the free, Liberia 

Today,I want to introduce Liberia.
Liberia is a country on the west coast of Africa
and Africa's oldest republic.
On July 26,1847,
Liberia was founded as an independent nation
for free-born and formerly enslaved African Americans.
African Americans who immigrated to the colony
is called Americo-Liberians.
Americo-Liberians had social custom and cultural standard
which is different from natives of interior.
Some Americo-Liberians think
they're civilized by experience in America
and considered native people uncivilized and inferior.

Americo-Liberian dominated native people,
but native people rebelled
against Americo-Liberian's unfair rule.
Now, Americo-Liberian's rule is collapsed by some civil war.
But Liberia still is suffering aftereffect of the war.

And ironically Liberia means "Land of the free".

Syriana 

「シリアナ」という映画を見たので、
一応感想を一言残しておく。
中東の石油の利権をめぐり、
CIA、黒人弁護士、アラブの王族、過激派テロリスト
がどう行動したかという話である。
世界は陰謀でできているという、
キャッチフレーズ通りの内容だった。

難しすぎるという、酷評を良く聞くが、
あらすじをしった上で見れば、そうでもないと思う。
でも、自分はもともと中東問題に興味があったので
最後まで見られたが、そうではない人が
何かのアクション映画と思ってみてしまうと
退屈してしまうだろうと思った。

ラストは衝撃的。
実話を元にしたフィクション映画らしく
私たちは恐ろしい世界に生きているという事を、
あらためて痛感させられた。

China brickwork slave children  

As many as 1,000 children may have been sold
into slave labor in central China
It's so terrible news.
I was surprized to hear this news.
About 1000 children was kidnapped and made to work at brickworks...and 120 suspects had been arrested.
It seems that children was abused
and used violence by employer.

You know...
China is one of the permanent member of the Security Council.
though China is a world economic power,
China can't protect fundamental human rights.

Guantánamo 

President Bush begin to consider to close down Guantanamo.
Do you know Guantanamo?
This is detention center in Cuba.
It's said that American government insist
detainee is not prisoner and combatant.
Then They ranked detainee as 'enemy combatants'
So Geneva Conventions can't be applied to Detainees in Guantanamo.
Some researcher suspected detainees are abused and tourtured.
In fact some report and witness are suggesting
the doubt is ture.

Amnesty international said
｢Guantánamo Bay is a symbol of injustice and abuse and it must be closed down. ｣

The japanese Self-defense Forces 

Prime Minister Abe decided
to extend the self-defence force's mission in iraq.
People said Prime Minister forced vote.

I guess there are alot of people
who oppose dispatching self-defence
But needless to say that
it is necessary to support iraq.

The problem is not dispatching self-defence force.
Important things is what self-defence force do in iraq.
and the government has responsiblity
for telling what self-defence force did in iraq to the japanese nation.

UNITED 93 

UNITED 93という映画を見た。
同時多発テロの映画だ。
ハイジャックされ４機の航空機のなかで唯一
乗客の抵抗により目的地に到達できず、
途中で墜落した航空機だ。

グランドゼロ。
昨年、アメリカに旅行に行った際に、
NYで見たことがあるので特に親近感の沸く映画だった。

映画評論家ではないので、
偉そうなことはいえないが、いい映画だった。
ハイジャックした側も、された側も平等に描き、
いわゆる、アメリカ万歳のヒーロー映画ではなかった。

あるときは乗客の視点から、あるときはイスラム教徒の視点から
坦々と物語を進ませ、それでいて、かなりの臨場感を出し、
飽きることなく最後まで見られる映画だと思った。

テロの恐ろしさを伝える点でも十分だと思う。

同時多発テロを実際に目にしたNYの友人たちにしてみれば
つらい映画かもしれないが、見る価値はあったと思う。

NIgerian oil 

I was interested in trend of Nigeria.
The other day,
some communications reported that,
in NIgeria,
oil pipelines which were stopped by nuisance with inhabitant
were resumed operating.
Nigeria has a population of 1,3000,0000.
It's the biggest population in afirica.

When nigeria became independent from britain in 1960,
Nigeria has nothing expect farm products,cacao.

But the oil is found in Nigeria.
Then, alot of nigerian expected
that nigerian government and people will benefit
and become rich by the oil.

But this hope was broken by the real.
oil company broke the nature and polluted the river
for Development for extracting petroleum.

はじめまして。
管理人、STANLEYです。
以前にも、
yaplogの方でブログを開いていたことがあったのですが、
しばらくの休止期間をおいて、
こちらで再度ブログを続けていこうと思います。
